KARGIL, Sept 10: The 1st UT Ladakh Thang-Ta Championship wrapped up at Public Park Changrah, near MPS Saliskote, featuring over 150 players from across Ladakh. Organized by the Ladakh Thang-Ta Association under the Thang-Ta Federation of India, the event was supervised by National Referee Tariq Hassan and his team from the J&K Thang-Ta Association.
The championship was graced by Syed Mehraj Ud Din Shah, General Secretary of the District Kargil Olympic Association, as chief guest, and Anayat Ali Shotopa, General Secretary of the Ladakh Taekwondo Association, as guest of honour. They were joined by Mohammad Hassan, General Secretary of the Ladakh Thang-Ta Association, and other sports enthusiasts, parents, and players.
Anayat Ali Shotopa praised the growing interest in martial arts like Thang-Ta, Taekwondo, Boxing, and Karate in Ladakh and highlighted the region’s achievements at national and international levels. He also spoke about the upcoming Ladakh Sports Council, which will support athletes and offer more development opportunities.
