JAMMU, Sept 21: Eleventh National Conference of Indian Orthopaedic Rheumatology Association (IORACON) concluded today in Jammu.
The two-day conference was organized by Post Graduate Department of Orthopaedics, Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) & Hospital, Jammu in association with J&K Orthopaedic Association and Department of Orthopaedics, GMC Jammu, and inaugurated yesterday by Director Principal, ASCOMS & Hospital, Dr Pavan Malhotra.
The conference was aimed at bringing together the national and international orthopaedic faculty so that they can exchange their views on the latest developments in the field of Orthopaedic Rheumatology. This is for the first time an Orthopaedic National Conference of this magnitude has been organized in Jammu.
Eminent national and local faculty of Orthopaedics participated in the conference and discussed the challenges and recent advances in the management of Rheumatological diseases, which is on rise for last couple of years, probably due to advancements in diagnosis and with good therapeutic outcome due to development of targeted management of diseases.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajesh Gupta, organizing secretary and HoD Orthopaedics, ASCOMS & Hospital, highlighted the importance and need of such academic activities to stay up to date.
The prestigious IORA Oration was delivered by Prof Anil Jain, Principal, University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi. Dr Anil Gupta, Prof and Head, Department of Orthopaedics, GMC Jammu was also honoured in the conference.
