JAMMU, Sept 21: Jhajjar Kotli police arrested two persons including a Haryana resident along with 25 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma laid a naka and intercepted two Jammu bound vehicles including a Santro car and a Tata Sumo.
During checking, police team recovered 25 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicles and arrested the drivers.
The arrested persons were identified as Vikas Sharma, son of Ashok Sharma of Karnal, Haryana and Prem Chand, son of Dev Raj of Chanpora, district Ganderbal.
Two cases under relevant sections have been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the names of other persons involved in this illegal trade of smuggling drugs.
