UDHAMPUR, Sept 18: In a major success, Udhampur Police today recovered 488.76 grams of heroin like substance at Naka Point Tikri (NHW) and arrested three hard-core narco smugglers.
Team of Police Post Tikri, led by ICPP Manveer Singh was conducting routine vehicle checking at Naka Point Tikri when a vehicle (Creta) bearing registration number JK02DH-2486 and coming from Jammu side towards Kashmir valley, was made to stop. During checking of the said vehicle, Police team recovered three transparent packets containing 488.76 grams of heroin like substance.
Following this, Police arrested driver of the vehicle and his two associates travelling with him. They were identified as Mukhtar Ahmed, son of Mohd Rashid of Karmara Poonch; Mohd Hafiz son of Mohd Hussain, of Ward No.10 Jhulass, Poonch and Abdul Hamid, son of Mohd Hussain, of Ward No. 10 Jhulass, Poonch.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 212/2024 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation of the case is going on.
