SAMBA, Apr 22: Police has achieved a major success under the guidance of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh and arrested two hardcore criminals involved in extortion, attempt to murder and Arms Act cases in Samba, Kathua and Jammu districts.
The arrested hardcore criminals have been identified as Vinay Singh Salathia alias Sunny alias Soor son of Ranjeet Dev Singh Salathia of Sani Mandi Gurha Salathia and Pritam Singh alias Sethi son of Mohan Singh of Jerda tehsil, Ramgarh district Samba.
Vinay Singh Salathia alias Sunny alias Soor of Guhra Salathia is the main accused involved in robbery case of Gurha Salathia registered at Police Station Vijaypur FIR No.43/2023 U/S 382/341/323 IPC 3/25 Arms Act and with his arrest, police has solved the said extortion case. Vehicle used for committing extortion has also been seized by the police.
A police team comprising of Inspector Sumit Sharma, SHO Police Station, Vijaypur Tribhawan Khajuria, PSI Ankush Sharma, Sgct Madan Lal, Ct. Parveen Kumar and Suresh Kumar under the supervision of Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary conducted raids at various places and finally succeeded in nabbing the extortionist from Katra with the assistance of Reasi police. Further investigation in the extortion cases is going on.
Pritam Singh alias Sethi of Ramgarh nabbed at Vijaypur is a hardcore criminal and in the past has been involved in as many as nine different cases of attempt to murder, extortion, Arms Act etc. registered at police station Vijaypur, Ramgarh, Rajbagh ,Gandhinagar, RS Pura, and Bishnah. He is presently wanted in Bishnah police in case FIR No. 94/2023 U/S 323/506/147/ IPC 3/4/25 Arms Act, as he had attempted to extort Rs.10 lakh on gun point in Bishnah area. He is being handed over to Bishnah police following proper procedure.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh said that Gurha Salathia extortion case has been solved by police and further investigation is going on.
