If we talk about heatwave or heat wave in natural calamities, thousands of people die every year in India due to this calamity. Elders, children, women are included in this. In this calamity, a person gives his life in agony due to heat stroke. In India, the effect of heatwave or heatwave is maximum in the states of North India, in which mainly Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Maharashtra etc. states are included. During the disaster, strong hot winds cause heavy damage to the crops in the hot summer and cause heavy damage to the crops standing in the fields. Due to which there is heavy loss of life and property, it is very difficult to compensate for the loss caused by the disaster. In desert areas, the temperature reaches 50′ C to 55′ C during summer, due to which many diseases also make their place.
Measures to prevent heat wave
Heat wave and heatwave are periods of abnormally high temperatures, higher than normal maximum temperatures occurring during the summer season in northwestern parts of India. Heat waves usually occur between March and June, and in some rare cases extend to July. It lives in the states of Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Jammu Kashmir, Bihar etc. in India. The extreme temperatures and resultant atmospheric conditions adversely affect the people living in these regions as they cause physical stress, because of which sometimes death also happens.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has given the following criteria for heat waves:
Heat wave should not be considered until the maximum temperature of a station reaches up to 40 °C for plains and at least 30 °C for hilly areas
When a station’s normal maximum temperature is less than or equal to 40 °C, the heat wave is 5 °C above normal, or 6 °C to 6 °C above normal.
Heat wave is declared when the actual maximum temperature is 45 °C or more than the normal maximum temperature. Higher daily extreme temperatures and longer, more intense heat waves are on the rise globally due to climate change. India is also feeling the effects of climate change in the form of increased instances of heat waves which are becoming more intense in nature with each passing year, and have devastating effects on human health leading to heat waves. The number of casualties increases.
The hot wind that blows in the summer season is called heat stroke. Instructions to avoid heat stroke: As soon as the summer season arrives, elders start meeting with it. Side effects begin to occur. Actually it is a physical problem caused by heat. Our body has a mechanism to keep itself cool. Due to this mechanism, we are able to save ourselves from the heat rising inside due to outside heat or physical activity. Sweating a part of the same process that it is necessary for the body.. Due to lack of water, this process cannot work properly, in such a situation, if the body temperature exceeds 104.F, then is dangerous for the body.
Heat and lack of water
If there is a lack of water in the body, then there is a long stay in the hot sun and heat, if there is a lot of physical work in the hot summer, then the body is not able to cool itself, in such a situation, the chances of getting sunstroke or heat stroke increases.
Excessive intake of alcohol or tea coffee etc.
Drinking alcohol or taking tea and coffee in large quantities leads to excessive urination because the body keeps trying to get out its harmful substances through urine, due to which there is a lack of water in the body.
Sitting in the sun locked in a car without AC
Sometimes a closed car is a very common cause of heat stroke. If a closed car is parked in the sun, the temperature of the car becomes much higher than the outside temperature. If the outside temperature is 25.C, the inside temperature of the car is 50.C or It can be more than this, some people leave children and elderly people in a closed car and go for some work. Small children, elderly people should never be left alone in a closed car because they become victims of heat stroke in a very short time.
Extreme softening heat
When the humidity in the environment is high, then the sweat does not evaporate from the body, due to the absence of perspiration, cooling does not take place, this can also cause heat stroke.
Wearing synthetic or tight clothes
Wearing synthetic or tight clothes in the summer season does not allow air to pass through and the heat inside the body does not get out, in such a situation, the effect of heat stroke can occur.
Physical weakness due to chronic illness
Suffering from heart disease, lung problem, kidney problem, obesity, high blood pressure, mental stress, diabetes, etc. for a long time affects the physical ability, in such a situation, the effect of high heat starts to affect quickly, so be careful. need
Children or the elderly are more at risk
Most of the children or elderly people are easily vulnerable to heatstroke because they have less power to withstand the heat. Not drinking enough water, drinking too much alcohol or tea and coffee can cause heatstroke at any age.
Steps to avoid heat stroke
* Umbrella should be used while coming out of the sun, cover your head and come out of the sun.
* Come out of the house after drinking water or some cold sherbet.
* You can try to reduce the body temperature by rubbing a wet cloth on the skin.
* One should not drink cold water immediately after sweating profusely after coming from the hot sun.
* Water should be kept drinking repeatedly during the summer days so that there is no shortage of water in the body.
* Mixing lemon and salt in water and drinking it two or three times a day reduces the risk of heat stroke.
* One should not go on an empty stomach while going out in the sun.
* Take special care of food and drink.
* Vegetable soup should be consumed, Bael juice is also beneficial, Bael will fulfill your vitamin and mineral deficiency and will bring coolness to the body, you can also take tamarind and mint water, coconut water is also an easy solution.
* In case of sunstroke, one should try to reduce the body temperature, for this the person should be immediately taken to a cool place with shade and keep the body in cool air.
* Ice can be applied on the thighs, neck, and hands on both sides near the armpits, back, navel, these places have more blood vessels, so it has a quick effect to bring coolness to the body.

It is important to avoid heatstroke because sometimes heatstroke can take a toll on life. That’s why prevention is protection.
