JAMMU, May 11: Police today claimed to have made another arrest and seizure in the Greater Kailash murder case.
Thus far, seven people, including ex-SSP Sheikh Mehmood and notorious land grabber Ravinder Gupta alias Gola Shah have been arrested in the case by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the case. Besides, two vehicles used in the commission of the crime and CCTV footages of the area have also been seized by the police team.
Acting swiftly on human as well as technical intelligence, Sachin Patiyal alias Sanju of Samba, who was involved in the Greater Kailash land scuffle, resulting in murder of a 39-year-old man, has been arrested today, a police official said.
According to him, Sachin was evading his arrest since April 30, 2024.
A Baleno vehicle used by the accused has also been seized, the police official further said.
The police officer further said that the role of the accused is coming in as that of a significant link behind the entire scuffle.
His detention will prove as a major leap in the ongoing investigation of the case by the SIT, he added.
Meanwhile, as per a fresh order, a Revenue Officer has also been deputed to assist the SIT investigating the case.
