JAMMU, July 4: A ‘Kisan Goshthi’ organised by the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture was held here today.
The event, held under the Chairmanship of Arvinder Singh Reen, Director AP & FWD, Jammu, and Controller of Fertilizers J&K (UT), Sukhpal Singh Sidhu, State Marketing Manager, IFFCO J&K was the guest of honour.
The program was attended by Sahil Gandotra, SDAO, Marh.
Pouni Chak has been designated as an IFFCO Nano Model Village, where farmers will be provided with a 25% subsidy on the market price of Nano Urea Plus, Nano DAP, and Sagarika fertilizers. This initiative is designed to encourage the extensive use of Nano fertilizers to enhance crop yield and quality, improve soil health, reduce water and air pollution.
Sahil Gandotra discussed about various agricultural activities in the Marh Block.
Sukhpal Singh Sidhu provided insights into IFFCO’s products, activities in J&K, and the significance of IFFCO Nano Model Village initiative. Farmers were appraised about benefits and positive impact of Nano fertilizers on crop quality and production.
Live demonstration of Nano DAP (liquid) for seed and root treatment was conducted, showcasing the practical applications of Nano fertilizers.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvinder Singh Reen provided an overview of ongoing agricultural activities in J&K and emphasized on the advantages of Nano fertilizers, including improved soil health, reduced water and air pollution, increased crop production and quality, decreased reliance on conventional fertilizers and lower incidence of pests and diseases.
The event witnessed active participation of 400 farmers who engaged in meaningful discussions and raised pertinent questions about the initiative.
