JAMMU, July 23: Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) activists led by their president, Sunil Dimple here today staged a protest demonstration against soaring prices of vegetables, petrol, diesel, toll plaza, electricity bills and lack of basic amenities.
Addressing the protestors, Dimple said that high prices of essential commodities have broken the back of common people and demanded bringing petrol, diesel and LPG under GST.
He said that poor families, unemployed youths, traders and transporters got no relief in the Budget presented in the Parliament today and claimed that the Government has no formula to stop the rising prices.
The MSJK leader threatened to intensify agitation in coming days if the prices of essential commodities are not reduced.
He alleged the faulty and hefty power bills are being delivered to the poor public and demanded immediate Assembly elections and restoration of Statehood to J&K.
Those present in the protest were, Raju Kumar, Dev Raj, Vicky, Vipan, Jetinder Das and others.
