JAMMU, Aug 2: Jammu Development Authority (JDA) today retrieved around 22 kanal prime land worth crores of rupees from encroachers who were illegally occupying it in Birpur, Bari Brahmana, District Samba.
The drive conducted by the JDA team was led and executed by Megha Gupta, Tehsildar JDA along with Naib Tehsildar JDA and the concerned revenue and enforcement field staff of the JDA. The drive was monitored by Vivek Modi, Director Land Management and under the overall supervision of Bhawani Rakwal, Vice Chairman JDA.
Sensing gravity of matter, the drive was carried out with active participation of the Revenue team of Tehsil Bari Brahmana, strong contingent of police led by ASP Bari Brahmana and SHO Bari Brahmana.
The encroachments and illegal structures were removed from the spot and JDA signboards were put up. Besides, JDA has once again asked people not to indulge in such illegal practices of encroaching as the department will not desist to remove the illegal structures with cost and legal proceedings.
