JAMMU, Aug 3: Lauding several developmental initiatives of the LG administration, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry drew attention towards certain issues, which also need kind attention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for their resolution at the earliest.

Talking to media persons, here today, the Chamber President Arun Gupta suggested that while developing the land for Industries, 20 percent land should be kept reserved for the MSME units and during the allotment process, local sons of the soil should be given preference.
He also demanded announcement of power amnesty scheme for commercial users (Traders and Industrialists) on the pattern of power amnesty scheme announced earlier for the domestic consumers.
While commending the decision of the Administrative Council for resolving the issue of Khad Land, the Chamber President requested that the issue regarding the execution of lease deed in respect of JDA and other state properties be resolved on the same pattern without any further delay.
Accompanied by Secretary General Manish Gupta and other office bearers of the Chamber, Arun Gupta congratulated LG Manoj Sinha for launching the new Film Policy 2024 and hoped that the initiative will play a pivotal role in developing Jammu and Kashmir as a global film production hub.
“Jammu has a lot of scenic beauty places captivating views like Kashmir Valley which ought to be popularized through print and electronic media, so that the Bollywood films shooters are attracted to utilize these places for shooting of their films. This will give boost to the local trade, tourism and will also generate employment opportunities for the unemployed educated youth,” he explained.
Appreciating efforts of the LG administration for smoothly conducting the ongoing Baba Amarnath Yatra and beginning of OPD services in AIIMS at Vijaypur, CCI expressed gratitudes to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for resolving the issue of 39 shopkeepers of Nai Basti who were asked to vacate their 39 shops by or before 29 July.
Pertinent to mention that the Chamber had taken up the issue of displacement of these 39 shop owners of Nai Basti with the Lt Governor who gave a sympathetic consideration to the matter and resolved the same at the earliest.
