KATRA, Aug 3: A delegation of Chamber of Tourism, Trade and Industry Katra (CTTIK), led by its president, Raj Kumar Padha today met Tourism Director Vivekanand Rai.
Joint Director, Sunaina Sharma Mehta and Deputy Director, Shoukat Mattoo and others were also present on the occasion.
The delegation discussed strategic initiatives for promoting key destinations in Jammu region, with a particular focus on Katra and Vaishno Devi pilgrimage.
Raj Kumar Padha stressed on improving infrastructure and leveraging digital marketing to attract a wider audience to Jammu’s unique destinations.
He emphasized on the need for improved transportation and facilities in Katra and surrounding areas to ensure a comfortable and memorable experience for pilgrims and tourists.
Padha demanded highlighting of rich cultural and historical heritage of Jammu region including festivals and events that can draw tourists year-round.
The delegation demanded enhancing region’s online presence through targeted campaigns and social media engagement to reach a global audience.
Encouraging partnerships between the Government and private sector to drive tourism growth and sustainability was also included in the talks.
Tourism Director reiterated his department’s commitment to support initiatives that will enhance region’s tourism.
He assured to work closely with CTTIK to bring the suggestions and demands to fruition.
Joint Director, Sunaina Sharma Mehta and Deputy Director, Shoukat Mattoo talked about the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving sustainable tourism growth and highlighted the ongoing projects that aim to improve tourist experience in Jammu.
