JAMMU, Aug 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Jammu District have booked 12 landlords for their alleged failure to provide the information related to the tenants residing in their homes.
The action was taken against the erring individuals for violation of DM order issued under section 163 BNSS, requiring the owners of the properties to share the details of their tenants and domestic helps, said a police official.
He said an exercise was initiated by SP Jammu South on the direction of SSP Jammu for the verification of outsiders staying as tenants and domestic helps without the knowledge of concerned Police Station in Jammu East areas.
During the drive carried out by SDPO East, he said, 10 cases were registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and two at Police Station Channi Himmat under the relevant sections of the BNS.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Jammu and Kashmir police have further appealed to the citizens to voluntarily come forward and share the details of their tenants and domestic helps.
