JAMMU, Aug 6: The Rattle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd has urged the Power Development Department (PDD) J&K Government to get the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Plant (R&R) for Rattle Hydro Power Project Drabshala in district Kishtwar approved by Administrative Council (AC) so that the R&R benefits could be timely released to the beneficiaries thorough Commissioner R&R Ratle HE Project.
In this connection a letter has been written by Chief Executive Officer of the Project to Principal Secretary to Government of J&K Power Development Department (PDD) seeking approval of the R&R Plan from Administrative Council.
While making reference to the meeting of the Standing Committee held on June 29 this year under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, J&K regarding the approval of updated R&R proposal of Ratle Hydel Project it said that the Standing Committee has accorded the approval to revised proposal of R&R plan for the Project. However, for the implementation of revised R&R Plan it needs the approval of Administrative Council for the disbursement of the benefits.
The letter said that affected families of the Ratle Project are time and again demanding for an early disbursement of R&R benefits. Besides, the locals of the Project area are also demanding for an early implementation of activities proposed under LADP and CSR components.
The letter requested the Principal Secretary PDD to take up the matter with concerned Department of J&K Government for an early approval of the R&R Proposal from Administrative Council of UT Government so that these benefits could be timely released to beneficiaries.
It may be recalled that Krupal Balaji Tumane, MP (Lok Sabha) had sought details about the implementation of R&R Plan from J&K UT Government. A delegation of J&K Shiv Sena (Shinde) led by Tilak Raj Shan Zonal president of the Party from Kishtwar region had taken up the issue with the party MP seeking his immediate intervention in the matter to get the R&R plan implemented for the beneficiaries of Ratle power Project.
Shan had expressed his concern that despite taking up the issue with concerned authorities the people have not been given the benefits of the R&R Plan. He sought immediate intervention of the MP in the matter who later took up the issue with J&K Government.
