JAMMU, Aug 7: The Oral Hygiene Week organised by PG Department of Periodontology and Implantology, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu in collaboration with Indian Society of Periodontology concluded here today.
Week long programmes on the occasion were inaugurated on August 1 by Principal and Dean IGGDC Jammu, Dr. Parveen Akhter Lone in the presence of Prof and HOD Dr. Manik Sharma and other faculty members including Dr. Abhima Kumar, Dr. Jyoti Gupta, Dr. Kousain Sehar, Postgraduates, Paramedical staff, house surgeons, interns and students.
Theme of Oral Hygiene Day was ‘Oral Health is the Eternal Wealth & Oral Health: a Right and not Privilege.’
During the week long programmes, free sample distribution of oral hygiene aids, brushing technique demonstration to patients and other events including Rangoli making competition, poster competition, oral screening and tobacco cessation counselling were conducted.
Nukkad Natak programme was also performed to educate masses about the importance of oral hygiene
Other academic events like lecture by guest speakers and workshop with postgraduate and undergraduate students of the department was done by Dr D.S Kalsi in the presence of chief patron, Dr Parveen Akhter Lone; patron, Dr Manik Sharma; Co-patron, Dr Vineet Kotwal; organising chairperson, Dr Shipra Sepolia and Dr Abhima Kumar, organizing secretary, Dr Jyoti Gupta and Dr Kousain Sehar.
Other organising members present on the occasion were Dr Arun Kumar, Dr Mehak Mubeen, Dr Annu Priya, Dr Mohd Irfan and Dr Sabiha Parwaiz.
