JAMMU, Aug 22: Gandhi Nagar Zone triumphed over Dansal Zone by 75 runs to advance to the semi-finals of the Jammu District Inter-Zonal U-17 Cricket Tournament organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports at Khel Gaon here today.
Gandhi Nagar posted 150 runs in 15 overs, thanks to Mohd Faizan’s 40, Prabdeep Singh’s 30, and Ruhaan Raj Kalra’s unbeaten 26. Dansal could only manage 75 runs in reply, with Smagey Khajuria scoring 30. Rajveer led the bowling attack for Gandhi Nagar with 2 wickets for 24 runs.
In another match, Marh Zone defeated Khour Zone comfortably. Khour Zone was restricted to 60 runs, which Marh chased down in just 7 overs, with extras playing a crucial role.
Now, in the semifinals, Jammu Zone will lock horns with Jourian, while Gandhi Nagar will take on Marh Zone at the same venue tomorrow.
