RAMBAN, Aug 26: Police here today under the guidance of SSP Ramban, Kulbir Singh foiled a narcotics smuggling attempt in Failthy area and arrested a narcotic peddler with intoxicant material.
Sources informed that during a routine patrol near Maitra area, the cops from Police Station Ramban intercepted a car bearing registration number JK-19-A 5719 moving from Failthy to Ramban.
On checking the vehicle, about 150-160 gram Charas was found in the possession of the driver Mohd Shafi, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Failthy after which he was taken into custody.
A case in FIR no. 199/2024 under relevant Sections of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Ramban in this regard and investigation started.
