JAMMU, Sept 7: Dr Gautam Sharma, president of Indian Dental Association (IDA) Jammu, attended a three-day periodontal and peri-implant plastic surgery symposium and microsurgical cadaveric workshop at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
The resource persons for this 3 day-workshop from September 5 to September 7 at AIIMS, included Dr Shayan Barootchi, Dr Vikender Yadav, Dr Saravanan SP and Dr Amit.
Dr Shayan Barootchi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity, Division of Periodontology, at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and holds a position as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine.
Dr Vikender Yadav, is Additional Professor at the Centre for Dental Education and Research, AIIMS New Delhi while Dr Saravanan SP and Dr Amit are the Dental Officers and Classified Specialists in Periodontology in the Indian Army Dental Corps.
Topics of the workshop included understanding gingival recession, coronally advanced flap, tunnelling flap, connective tissue graft and substitutes, periodontal and peri-implant plastic microsurgery; clinical concepts, diagnosis and management of implant esthetic complications, keratinized tissue augmentation around teeth and implants, timings and therapies for soft tissue augmentation around implants, microsurgical workshop on animal model (Demonstrations and Hands-on), demonstration and hands-on of surgical techniques on cadavers.
Dr Gautam Sharma is dental officer of the University of Jammu and is regularly attending the high-end dentistry symposiums especially periodontal and microsurgical hands-on workshops.
