Srinagar, Sept 14: Director of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK), Dr. Jehangir Bakshi, visited CHC Sumbal and CHC Hajin in District Bandipora today to assess the healthcare services being provided to patients.
During his visit, he also reviewed the progress regarding the establishment of a Dialysis Unit, for which space has already been allocated.
“A detailed discussion was held regarding the initiation of dialysis services,” a DHSK spokesperson said.
The Director issued on-the-spot instructions to the BMO to immediately coordinate with the Director of SKIMS, who has assured the provision of two additional dialysis machines as required.
The BMO was also directed to ensure the activation of an already available dialysis machine at the facility, the Directorate said.
DHSK also gave on-the-spot directions addressing infrastructure and logistical issues related to the dialysis unit, so that dialysis services could be made available to the general public as soon as possible and in accordance with the guidelines.
In addition to focusing on making the Dialysis Unit operational, the inspection aimed to assess the quality of healthcare facilities, patient care, and hygiene standards.
During the inspections, DHSK visited various sections of both hospitals to get a first-hand assessment of the healthcare delivery system. He also evaluated the hospitals’ infrastructure, medical equipment, and staffing levels.
Dr. Bakshi emphasized the importance of providing quality healthcare services to the public. “Our primary focus is to ensure that patients receive the best possible care,” he stated.
DHSK was accompanied by divisional and district-level officers during his visit.
