SRINAGAR, Sept 16: Red FM, one of India’s top private radio and entertainment networks, today announced the launch of the Red Premier League (RPL), marking its debut in professional cricket with Kashmir’s largest-ever cricket tournament.
The event will run from September 17 to October 17 at Delhi Public School, Srinagar, featuring 37 matches under lights on a top-tier turf wicket.
The RPL will feature 12 teams competing across two pools, with each team allowed up to four national-level players and required to include at least one Under-19 talent.
The tournament aims to blend established cricketers with grassroots talent, providing a unique platform for local players, organizers said.
Every match will be streamed live on Red FM JK and JK Sports Time, allowing fans across the region and beyond to follow the action. Nisha Narayanan, Director & COO of Red FM and Magic FM, said, “We’re excited to expand into sports with RPL, a step towards connecting with audiences through cricket, which has always been a core part of our brand. After the success of the Carrom Street Festival, we see sports as a platform to unify communities, especially in Kashmir. RPL is our way of bringing something positive and engaging to the region.”
