JAMMU, Sept 21: Army Public School (APS) Sunjuwan, in collaboration with COE Chandigarh, organized a one-day immersive ‘Capacity Building Workshop’ on the theme of ‘Storytelling as Pedagogy’.
The event began with a welcome address by the Chairman of APS Sunjuwan, encouraging the participants to pursue excellence and leverage education to positively shape future generations.
The workshop featured two resource persons: Harleen, Headmistress of Cambridge Innovative School, Jalandhar, and Munmun Kohli, Senior Coordinator and PGT English at Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu. They delivered insightful sessions on how storytelling can significantly contribute to students’ academic success and emotional well-being. The speaker elaborated on the scientific impact storytelling has on different sensory areas of the brain, emphasizing its effectiveness across all age groups.
Teachers were guided on techniques for creating engaging stories, including the importance of planning, innovative ideas, and voice modulation. The facilitators also introduced digital tools and apps that can enhance storytelling in the classroom. The workshop offered teachers valuable learning opportunities to adopt storytelling as a powerful pedagogical tool.
