JAMMU, Sept 23: The newly appointed Congress acting working president of Jammu and Kashmir, senior advocate Mohinder Bhardwaj stated that the Congress is committed to get the Statehood status for the Union Territory and restore the process of darbar move.
Addressing a press conference here today, Bhardwaj, who was accompanied by another acting working president Bhanu Mahajan, criticized Home Minister Amit Shah for questioning Rahul Gandhi’s efforts at unifying the society through his dictum “Nafrat ke bazaar mein mohabbat ki dukan”. He said the people of J&K are set to send the BJP and its fake narrative packing, with the Congress-National Conference poised to gain a clear majority.
“It was due to the truthful campaign started by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to unite people and expose the nefarious designs of the divisive forces represented by RSS-BJP, that people brought Narendra Modi-led BJP to the ground. As a result, those who were spreading falsehoods to win 400 seats could not even get a simple majority,” he added.
Asking people of both Jammu and Kashmir regions to overwhelmingly vote for the Congress-National Conference, he said the present Assembly election is historic for many reasons. It is both a reason to rejoice that people are able to elect a popular government after a gap of 10 years, and sorrow, that people of what was a bubbling State, are voting to elect a truncated Assembly of powerless Union.
He criticized both the Modi Government and the LG’s administration for their anti-people policies and making life miserable for them. Their tall claims that dilution of Article 370 will eradicate militancy and make people’s life comfortable in all respects have fallen flat and the lies stand fully exposed,” he further said and appealed the people to vote for Congress-NC candidates to defeat the forces which have decimated the grand J&K handed over to us by the Maharaja.
