JAMMU, Sept 25: The Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Jammu (Samba) hosted an inspiring Inter-School Sports Meet for Children with Special Needs, drawing enthusiastic participants from several esteemed institutions, including CRC Jammu (Samba), Model Academy Inclusive School, Muskan Home, Channi Himmat, and DEIC, Gandhi Nagar Hospital Jammu. The event was graced by Dr. Rohnika Sharma, the Director of CRC Jammu (Samba), who served as the chief guest.
The day kicked off with a warm welcome address from Dr. Devedika Padha, Lecturer in Physiotherapy at CRC Jammu (Samba), setting a positive and uplifting tone for the festivities. Following this, Dr. Sharma officially inaugurated the sports meet, sparking excitement among participants and spectators.
Highlights of the day included various events designed to showcase the talents of young athletes. The Glass Pyramid Race saw Rohit from CRC Jammu (Samba) take home the 1st prize, followed by Paramjeet from Muskan Home 2nd place, and Amrita from CRC Jammu (Samba) 3rd. In the 50-Meter Race, Dikshant from CRC Jammu (Samba) secured 1st place in the above 10 years category, while Rudransh from DEIC Gandhi Nagar Hospital Jammu triumphed in the below 10 years category.
In the Discus Throw event, Dikshant also excelled in the above 12 years category, and Abhayjeevan from Model Academy Inclusive School won in the below 12 years category. The one-minute Pick Stones with Clip Challenge was another exciting competition, where Ms. Amrita from CRC Jammu (Samba) clinched the top prize.
As the events concluded, medals were awarded to all winners, and colorful kits were presented to every participant, celebrating their achievements and encouraging ongoing involvement in sports. The program wrapped up with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Meenakshi Devi, Special Educator (Consultant) at CRC Jammu, and a memento was presented to Dr. Sharma by Naveen Gupta, Administrative Officer at CRC Jammu (Samba), in appreciation of her support.
