SAMBA, Sept 25: During a series of BJP election meetings in Thalori, Kothi, Meen Charakan, and Ward 10 of the Vijaypur Assembly segment, Chander Prakash Ganga emphasized that Vijaypur is a land of warriors. He highlighted the pivotal moment in May 1953 when Syama Prasad Mukherjee called for the complete integration of Jammu & Kashmir, which ignited a nationwide sentiment of nationalism and inspired numerous Jan Sangh activists.
Ganga noted that Vijaypur (Smailpur) is the birthplace of Prem Nath Dogra, the first and only National President of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh or BJP from Jammu & Kashmir, who assumed office in 1955. He praised the unwavering struggle and sacrifices of three generations of party workers, which kept the BJP alive despite a lack of governance at both the state and national levels.
Calling on the community to support the BJP not just to form a Government, but also to counter forces undermining their nationalistic struggle, Ganga highlighted the party’s achievements, including the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He cautioned that the National Conference and Congress are attempting to revive these provisions, which would strip citizens of equal rights.
Ganga underscored the legacy of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra in leading the nationalist movement against divisive rule, asserting that now is the time for the region to combat disruptive forces seeking to reemerge. He also pointed to the remarkable developmental projects initiated under Modi’s Government, such as the establishment of AIIMS, showcasing significant progress over the past decade.
