JAMMU, Sept 28: The Inter-Zonal District Level Athletics Meet for Under-14 and Under-17 girls, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, was held at the Sports Stadium in Smailpur, Purmandal Zone.
In an impressive display of skill and determination, the students of Humanity Public School (HPS), Bassi Kalan, Bari-Brahmana, excelled in the competition, securing 6 Gold medals and 3 Silver medals across various events.
In the Under-14 Girls category, Manpreet Kour of Class 9th won a Gold medal in the 100m race, while Snavi Bandral earned a Silver medal in the 600m race, and Reeya Charak of Class 7th secured a Silver medal in Discus throw. In the Under-17 Girls category, Smiley Sharma of Class 11th clinched a Gold medal in the 100m race, and Sneha Sharma, also of Class 11th, won Gold in the 200m race. Gold medalists from Class 9th included Deepika Kumari, who won in both Shotput and Discus throw, Rohini Bhagat in High Jump and Sofia Malik in Long Jump and Triple Jump. Additionally, Dipti Katal of Class 8th won a Silver medal in the 800m race.
The students were coached and guided by Mahan Singh (Sports Incharge) and other sports teachers, who dedicatedly trained the athletes to achieve success in the competition.
Principal of HPS, Gaurav Charak, and Vice-Principal, Anku Charak, congratulated the students for their outstanding performance. The winners were felicitated during a special school assembly in the presence of Incharges and other staff members, and the efforts of all participating students and teachers were recognized and appreciated.
