JAMMU, Dec 30: Kartar Public School, Barnoti, Kathua celebrated the Annual Day in the school premises, here today.
A large number of students, parents and media persons witnessed the function. The theme of the annual day “Dharohar” was to remind the younger generation, the need to conserve and respect our rich heritage and legacy of centuries old syncretic secular culture.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was the chief guest at the function, while Simrandeep Singh, Chairman JKSSB was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The program started with the traditional lighting of the lamp.
Harpreet Kaur, Secretary, Kartar Public School presented welcome address.
Later, Principal, Mamta Agarwal presented vote of thanks and highlighted the achievements of the school in academics and extra-curricular activities in School Annual Report.
The students presented a variety of cultural items on the occasion.
The school song of KPS was played to an impressive display by the students. Prizes were given away to the meritorious and talented students for various achievements in different fields. The Annual Prize Distribution function was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the school.
The students were awarded prizes in the Academic as well as Co-Curricular areas.
The chief guest implored the students to work single-mindedly and ambitiously towards their cherished goals. He appreciated the School management and the teachers for the meticulous presentation at the event.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, advisor of the school proposed the vote of thanks.
