JAMMU: To fast-pace infrastructural development of Jammu West constituency, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Sat Sharma today launched blacktopping of road from Rajpura to Shakti Nagar (AG Office Road) covering three wards.
A large number of people including PWD officials, local residents, social and political activists of the area were also present on the occasion.
The blacktopping work of the road is estimated to cost of RS 1.77 crore and the project also includes internal lanes and by-lanes.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that in the past couple of years a lot of developmental projects have been initiated and completed in Jammu West constituency which has helped in the overall development of the area.
He also stated that in coming days the pending works for blacktopping of roads will also be taken up by the concerned department in order to provide best connectivity. He stated that works pertaining to blacktopping of remaining main and link roads, construction of lanes and drains in other areas of Jammu West, commissioning and installation of transformers by PDD, rehabilitation and commissioning of water pipes laid by ERA, improvement in sanitation system, benefits of social welfare schemes to common men and women and other necessities will be focused upon to bring up Jammu West as a model Constituency.
He also appealed the masses to contribute in the noble cause by promoting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of building a “Clean and Green nation” and requested everyone to spare some time to contribute in the noble initiative.
