Swami Ram Swarup Ji, Yogacharya
If we pay our attention towards our ancient vedic texts like Valmiki Ramayan, Six Shastras, Shatpath Brahmin Granth, Mahabharat epic etc, we find that the secret of maintaining peace, brotherhood, patriotism, exercising control over senses and perceptions and several other divine qualities to be away from illusion, sensuality etc. was, that people of the ancient times were complete followers of vedas.
You see, in ancient times, no other path existed except the Vedic way. It was the time when Vedas knowledge was in vogue and no other spiritual as well as worldly book was written by anyone. So worldly knowledge and spiritualism preached by God in vedas, used to be followed only by the rulers as well as subjects, due to which the public had full control over its senses and perceptions and their hearts were pure, no corruption, blind faith, illusion etc. existed.
Therefore peace, divine qualities and pure hearted people lived together, promoting brotherhood. But it is sad that at present, in the absence of vedic knowledge, mostly the people have made their own several paths of worship, for the last 2000-3000 years ago. Is it not an extra ordinary astonishment that the sky sun, moon, air, water, earth i.e. all such matters right from the beginning of the earth till now are unchanged but mentality of human-beings has changed. Therefore question of maintaining pious thoughts and pure heart by controlling senses does not arise. Because you know, basically God only loves the pure hearted people.
Infact, worship means to be honest, pure hearted, to have control over senses and to discharge moral duties faithfully etc. but God knows what kind of worship is being performed by so called saints. That worship has become commercial hub/centre of satisfying sensual gratifications and several other immoral activities.
So, is it not that matters of universe remained unchanged but the worship and knowledge, which emanates directly from God in beginning of every creation has been changed by human-beings and hence the problem. Because God made worship does not allow human beings for doing any kind of sins but man-made worship seems to be full of selfishness.
Infact, as per universal indestructible tradition, an aspirant must be aware of vedas to know the eternal, everlasting and the purest form of Almighty God who creates, nurses and destroys universe.
In addition, he should also know the eternal path of worship which never creates any problem in human life as was in previous yugas to maintain pure heart. Because Vedas state that God loves and protects the pure hearted aspirants and destroys the sinners which is being seen in the present scenario also. You see, it is not possible that a man can decide the form of God and His divine qualities.
Actually at present the people are not aware of the eternal vedic knowledge, wherein God Himself has shown His form and unlimited divine qualities in eternal knowledge of Vedas, out of which His pure form is also mentioned in Yajurved mantra 40/8, that God is almighty, formless, without the binding of nervous system and (Shuddham Apaapviddham) i.e. He is the purest and always away from illusion and is never entangled in sins. That is why, in several ved mantras like Yajurved mantra 19/39, God preaches us to pray to the learned of Vedas that (Maa Punantu Dhiyaha Punantu) i.e. learned should purify myself and my intellect by providing me with the vedic knowledge. But it is sad that mostly the people nowadays do not listen to vedas and hence the problem. We must learn from vedas that God is the purest and always away from the sins and therefore in return God also asks the king, ministers and whole public of the world to be purest and to be away from all kinds of sins, illusion by following vedas and then question of any sin and sensual crimes would never arise.
So, question arises whether so-called saints or any aspirant starts worship to become pure to realise God or to cheat the public under the shelter of religion. To get the said knowledge we will have to revert back to vedas.
