JAMMU, Apr 27: The democratic rights of the exiled KP community are being violated with impunity by forces inimical to this community, by making their franchise process cumbersome and at the same time intentionally dropping their names from the voter list in the Kashmir Valley.
This is the main cause of low voter turnout as the people at helm of affairs by doing sow don’t want that in case of boycott in Valley the exiled votes should be decisive. This was stated by Advocate Ravinder Raina, president ASKPC, who while strongly condemning the Central Government for ignoring the exiled community said that more than 100 schemes were established by Modi Government for the last five years, but not a single scheme was extended for the welfare of the beleaguered KP community.
Even Ayushman Bharat Scheme was not extended to this community, though exiled KP continue to suffer health wise with serious ailments due to the stress of being driven out of their homeland.
President ASKPC demanded the Modi Government in tune with its bold decisions on other fronts, should launch a surgical strike on those elements which are bent on denying this community its democratic rights. ASKPC also petitions the Election Commissioner of India to ease the process of voting rights of the displaced community by accepting their migrant registration & other IDs as proof of their eligibility and dispensing off the filling of M forms.
He said in case Government fails to do so the ASKPC will be otherwise constrained to call for boycotting the forthcoming Assembly elections of the State.
Advocate Raina threatened to move a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Highest Court of the country on the discriminatory denial of voting rights to displaced KPs on the issue of M-forms, in case no redressal is forthcoming from the EC of India on the issue of M-forms.
