Kalpana Kala Kendra celebrates Braille Day

JAMMU, Jan 4: Kalpana Kala Kendra, Institute of Music and Dance here today celebrated the 2nd International Braille Day and 211th birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the man who invented the reading and writing systems for the visually impaired.
The programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Advocate Sanjay Raina.
Speaking on the occasion, organisers of the programme demanded implementation of all the schemes meant for the differently abled persons in J&K.
Other demands raised on this occasion included Advisory Board to be constituted under the RPWD Act for all differently abled persons, solution to the issues of non-payment of conveyance allowance to the differently abled migrant employees and inclusion of Dogri and Kashmiri languages in Braille system at the earliest.
