JAMMU, July 27: SKUAST-Jammu hosted its alumni meet 2024 here today at Main Campus Chatha and the event saw an attendance of around 150-200 participants.
Remarkable achievements of University’s alumni were highlighted by inspiring speeches, heartfelt reunions and celebrations.
Prof. B.N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu and alumni chair was chief guest.
In his address, Prof. Tripathi said: “As we celebrate our past and present, let us also look to the future with optimism.”
He said that SKUAST-Jammu is committed to encourage an environment that nurtures innovation, critical thinking and social responsibility among students.
The VC briefed about the growth of University from two faculties to six faculties with 1900 enrolled students presently.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, DSW, SKUAST-Jammu and Coordinator of the meet.
Dr. Rajinder Peshin, Director Education and Co-Chair of the meet; Dr. S.K Gupta, Director Research; Dr. Anil Kumar, Registrar and Dr. Rehana Akhtar Bijli, Personal Officer, GMC also spoke on the occasion.
Number of alumni’s shared their experience and also put forth their suggestions for strengthening the alumni association.
All the statutory officers of the university, alumni and students attended the meet.
The meet was convened by Dr. Vikas Sharma, P.I NAHEP-IDP and coordinated by Dr. Parshant Bakshi, Dr. Vivak M Arya, Prof. Soil Science and Dr. Anil Bhat, Associate Director Research, SKUAST-Jammu.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Parshant Bakshi, Head Division of Fruit Science.
