POONCH, Sept 20: The Volleyball tournament organized by the Army for the youth of the southern Pir Panjal region wrapped up, showcasing thrilling matches and fostering community spirit.
Kicked off on September 8 at Govt Hr Sec School, Bhatta Dhurian, the tournament saw six teams from various villages compete, drawing significant local enthusiasm. This initiative is part of the Army’s outreach program aimed at engaging young people in remote areas where access to organized sports is limited.
Recognizing the role of sports in building community ties and essential life skills, the Army awarded trophies and medals to participants, highlighting the importance of recognition in encouraging ongoing involvement in sports. A celebratory ceremony followed the final match, where exceptional performances were acknowledged with awards for categories such as “Best Player” and “Best Setter.”
