JAMMU, Sept 25: Congress leader and MLA of Gujarat Assembly Jignesh Mevani today stated that the leaders of BJP and RSS are anti-Dalits and anti-weaker sections.
Addressing a press conference Jignesh Mevani exposed fake love being shown by BJP leaders for Dalits and weaker sections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, where Assembly elections are going to be held.
“The RSS has been at the forefront of mistreating Dalits, spreading hate and intolerance. Meanwhile, the BJP sheds crocodile tears, showcasing fake love for Dalits in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, but what about the plight of Dalits in Gujarat? What about the diverted funds meant for our development?,” he asked.
Pointing towards corruption in Jammu and Kashmir, he said, “Recently, a massive scam worth Rs 13,000 crore has been exposed in the Jal Jeevan Mission in Jammu and Kashmir, involving Ashok Kumar Parmar, an IAS officer”.
“It’s shocking that Prime Minister Modi has chosen to remain silent on this issue. Why hasn’t the Government taken cognizance of this scam? Why hasn’t an FIR been filed?,” he said.
The BJP’s hypocrisy is evident in their actions. They claim to care about Dalits, but when a Dalit IAS officer exposes a massive scam, he’s harassed, targeted, and demoted.
“The Government’s inaction speaks volumes about their priorities. It’s clear that they’re more interested in protecting the accused than ensuring justice,” he said.
“The BJP’s anti-Dalit stance is evident in their actions. It’s time to expose their hypocrisy and demand accountability,” he said and added, “We need a Government that truly represents the interests of all communities, not just the privileged few. Let’s unite and fight for a better future, where Dalits and OBCs are treated with dignity and respect”.
