JAMMU, Sept 8: Former MLC and senior BJP leader, GL Raina has termed the BJP’s ‘Sankalap Patra’ for upcoming Assembly elections as the best document by any political organization in decades.
It is historic as BJP and its leadership has addressed issues of Kashmiri Pandit community comprehensively, Raina said while interacting with media. He said BJP has recognized the displacement as a process and has promised steps in a way that will reverse the process of exclusion and expulsion leading ultimately to return and rehabilitation of the community in the land of its origin.
“BJP has touched almost every aspect and aspiration of the displaced community; be that demand for publishing a white paper to ensure accountability for all victims of terrorism by fast cases, bring to justice person found guilty and ensuring the rule of law in the Union Territory,” he said, adding, BJP’s Sankalp Patra also promises to undertake reconstruction of temples and shrines under Rishi Kashyap Pilgrimage Rejuvenation Drive and launch Tika Lal Taploo Visthapit Samaj Punarvas Yojna.
Raina said establishing Sharda University in Kashmir, constitution of a welfare Board to protect, safeguard and defend the rights of the Displaced Community besides addressing concerns of the PM package employees are other commitments of the BJP.
The former MLC said Kashmiri Pandit community is exuberant over the promises made in the Sankalap Patra by overseeing and monitoring matters related to safeguarding the provisions for marginalized communities by strengthening/establishing Minority Commission which will include minorities in J&K like Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists.
He said other measures like promotion of tourist circuits including Sonamarg, Pahalgam, Martand (Mattan); Sharda Peeth, organizing Vitasta Arti, Gangabal Yatra and take steps to protect, preserve and promote Sharda & Tikri script are appreciable.
