JAMMU, Aug 19: J&K Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Darshan Rana today said that the Party will soon announce the names of candidates for ensuing Assembly elections in the Union Territory.
Rana was addressing party leaders and workers during a meeting at Chenab Valley. The Party vice president Charanjit Chargotra, State coordinator Gaurav Baksh, general secretary Shashi Bhushan Thapa and Incharge Chenab Valley Amit Bhagat along with other party members were present on the occasion. In view of the Assembly elections, Darshan Rana discussed the preparations of the Party for the elections with the party workers.
On the occasion, Darshan Rana said that discussions have been held regarding the preparations for the first phase of elections in J&K and especially elections to be held on 24 seats of Chenab Valley and South Kashmir, and the names of the candidates will also be announced soon.
He said that it has already been announced by the National president of the Party, Mayawati that BSP will contest the elections alone in Jammu & Kashmir and there will be no alliance with anyone.
Rana said the way the previous governments in J&K have ruined the State, there is a lot of anger among the people and the public wants change in J&K and this change can be brought about by BSP. He said that BSP will perform well in Chenab Valley and there is a lot of enthusiasm among the party workers. He told that after the first list is released, the names of the candidates of other areas will also be announced soon.
On this occasion, other party leaders also expressed their views. Chenab Valley In-charge Amit Bhagat said that BSP has been working strongly in this area and will participate in the Assembly elections with strength.
