CISF nabs foreigner with 20 kg narcotics at Delhi IGI Airport

NEW DELHI, July 13:
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Friday nabbed a Zimbabwean lady passenger with 20 Kg narcotics substance at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, an official statement said here on Saturday.
On July 12, around 2340 hrs, on profiling basis, CISF surveillance and intelligence staff of IGI Airport selected a foreign lady passenger for thorough checking in departure area of Terminal-3.
The said lady passenger was taken to the random checking point for thorough checking of her luggage.On scanning of her bags through scanning machine, pouches containing suspicious substance were noticed.
“On physical checking of her three bags, numerous ladies purses, each containing 500 gms powdery substance concealed in polythene pouch were detected”, the CISF Spokesperson Hemendra Singh told UNI.
Total weight of recovered pouches containing white granular or powdery substance was about 20.8kgs, he added.
The recovered suspected substance was tested with the drug detection kit which confirmed it as Pseudoephedrine drug.
The lady, later identified as Ms Nastor FariraiZiso was bound for Ndola via Addis Ababa by Ethiopian Airways flight on Saturday early morning.
The nabbed lady passenger along with seized narcotics substances ‘Pseudoephedrine drug’ weighing about 20.8 kg worth around Rs 21 lakh was handed over to Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials for further legal action in the matter, Mr Singh further said. (UNI)
