JAMMU, Sept 21: A one-day CME program on Operation Theatre (OT) safety protocols for successful operations was organized today by Association of Operation Theatre Technologists, Jammu in collaboration with Government Hospital Gandhinagar at conference hall of the Hospital.
The overview of Continuing Medical Education (CME) program was to create awareness amongst the medical professionals including paramedics regarding the safe protocols for successful operations. This is the first time when such type of CME programs are being organized by keeping in view the need of such in the interest of better patient care.
The program was attended by Dr Rakesh Magotra (Director, Health Services, Jammu), Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar (Medical Superintendent, Government Hospital, Gandhinagar), and Dr Balwinder Singh (Deputy Medical Superintendent). Besides, consultants and delegates from Jammu province attended the event.
Jaswinder Singh (organizing secretary), Dr Rohit Lahori (Interventional Pain & Palliative Care Specialist), Dr Kanav Padha (Senior Consultant Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement Surgeon) and Shivani Sood (Senior OT Technician) delivered lecture on safety protocols of Operation Theatre.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rakesh Magotra advised the Association of Operation Theatre Technologists to organize more such kind of CME programs in future so that the knowledge/latest technology is updated and learned by the OT staff.
During the event, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar gave encouraging statements regarding the role of OT Technologists during surgery in operation theatre.
