JAMMU, Sept 22: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has accused the Congress-NC alliance of planning to reverse 890 Union laws applied in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a BJP press conference in Jammu, Reddy said the alliance’s manifesto promise to restore Article 370 would undo key reforms, such as the Right to Education and land compensation for farmers.
He questioned whether the Congress-NC would scrap laws that guarantee basic rights and benefits for the people of J&K.
Reddy also took aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of promoting an anti-India agenda during his recent US trip.
He claimed Gandhi’s statements abroad reflecting the Congress Party’s growing anti-national stance, which is now evident in their policies for Jammu and Kashmir.
Additionally, Reddy criticized National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, calling him politically inconsistent.
He pointed to Abdullah’s initial decision not to contest the Assembly elections, followed by his sudden decision to contest from two seats, as well as his changing stance on supporting the Jamaat.
These actions, Reddy said, have earned Abdullah the nickname “Batoye da” (Mr. Confused) in Dogri.
The Union Minister concluded by stating that the Congress-NC alliance will face backlash at the polls, as voters in Jammu and Kashmir will reject their anti-India policies.
Reddy expressed confidence that the BJP will emerge victorious in the upcoming elections.
