KISHTWAR, Sept 29: A CRPF Jawan from Kathua posted at mountainous Kishtwar district was killed here today after a rashly driven taxi hit him in the heart of Kishtwar town this morning.
As per sources, the rashly driven vehicle of Scorpio make bearing registration number JK17-A 8111 coming from Chowgan side when reached Shaheedi Mazar Chowk, hit an auto rickshaw bearing registration number JK17-A 7027 before hitting a pedestrian leaving him seriously injured.
The injured person along with the auto driver was immediately shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar where the injured person succumbed to his injuries.
He was later on identified as CRPF Jawan, Raj Kumar, son of Jagdish Raj, resident of Ward number 5 (near Govt Middle School) Kathua.
After the accident, driver of Scorpio managed to escape from spot but was later on apprehended by Police along with his vehicle.
A case has been registered in this regard at Police Station Kishtwar and investigations were started.
