JAMMU, Aug 1: DBN Amarvilla held the fifth episode of its Oratory Odyssey series here today focusing on “Women Power in Viksit Bharat.” The event was designed for girls aged 12 to 17 and featured Manu Khajuria, a well-known freelance writer and activist from Jammu. Khajuria, who is the Joint National Coordinator of INSIGHT UK and Founder Director of Voice of Dogras, shared her insights on the role of women throughout history and their impact on modern society.
Khajuria highlighted the evolution of women’s roles from ancient times to the present, citing contemporary achievers like Sheetal Devi, an Asian Para Games champion, and Anshu Jamwal, the first female commander of an Air Defence unit. She stressed that education is a powerful tool for women’s empowerment, enabling them to gain confidence and excel in various fields. Khajuria outlined five key components of empowerment: self-worth, the right to make choices, and access to opportunities.
Principal Ranju Malhotra expressed her gratitude to Khajuria, praising her for inspiring students to advocate for their passions and encouraging collective action for societal change. The session aimed to foster a sense of empowerment and motivate young girls to pursue their goals confidently.
