POONCH, Aug 14: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary held a public grievance redressal session at the Block Diwas programme at Chattral in Block Mendhar.
The people of the area interacted with the DDC and apprised him of the issues, demands and developmental needs in their respective areas. PRI members raised concerns regarding the augmentation of water and power supply, road issues, access to healthcare facilities and day-to-day problems being faced by them.
Responding to the demands, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that all issues would be addressed in a time-bound manner. He directed the officers to work in coordination to ensure equitable development across all panchayats in the district and to resolve the problems without delay.
Stressing upon the education sector, the DC directed the Chief Education Officer to personally monitor the attendance of teachers in schools and ensure that absenteeism is dealt with strictly.
Taking note of slow progress of work on Jalla Theran road, the Deputy Commissioner asked SE PWD to liaise with the Forest department for forest clearance.
Deputy Commissioner asked Assistant Commissioner Development to clear wages of MGNREGA as per the time frame of schemes and ensure that works taken in hand are completed in stipulated time period.
The officers and officials present at the event registered the demands and grievances of the locals, with the aim of ensuring the redressal of these issues in the minimum possible time.
