SRINAGAR, Mar 2: Director General (DG) Rural Sanitation, Jammu and Kashmir, Anoo Malhotra today visited District Baramulla to assess the Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBM-G) assets in the town.
A statement said that the visit aimed at personally assessing the effectiveness and the utility of the assets created under the SBM-G.
During her visit, Anoo Malhotra inspected waste segregation sheds, community sanitary complexes, greywater, and plastic waste management units, and other facilities established under SBM-G in Tangmarg, Kunzer, and Lalanpora area of the District.
Malhotra interacted with local officials, stakeholders, and community members to gain a first-hand appraisal of the impact of these assets on rural sanitation and hygiene practices.
She was briefed on the Mission’s continuous efforts to improve rural sanitation and hygiene and was pleased with the progress made in the District.
The field visit highlighted the importance of sustained efforts to maintain and utilize the assets created under SBM-G effectively. It also emphasized the role of community participation and engagement in achieving the mission’s objectives of clean and healthy rural J&K.
