SRINAGAR, Sept 21 : The Director General of Police (DGP) R R Swain today acknowledged the Budgam villager’s prompt assistance to injured Border Security Force (BSF) personnel following an accident.
The DGP visited Brell Watarhail village today and announced five Special Police Officer (SPO) positions for the village youth in recognition of their humanitarian efforts.
He praised the villagers’ selfless actions, stating, “Their willingness to help without greed or expectation is truly commendable and reflects their inherent humanity.
In a heartwarming display of solidarity, locals in Brell Watarhail of Budgam district sprang into action to rescue BSF personnel after their bus plummeted into a gorge on Friday.
Later the locals were joined by police to evacuate the injured personnel, providing critical assistance in the rescue efforts.
“The community came together to help the BSF troopers, demonstrating the true spirit of humanity,” said a Budgam district official.
