JAMMU, Dec 19: J&K UT Pensioners and Civil Society Association has stated that pensioners of J&K Government are getting pension on pro-rata basis and this is affecting the pension of senior employees of the government.
In a handout N.D Sharma, general secretary of the Association stated that there are four categories in J&K Government to get pension viz., after 33, 30, 28 and 20 years of service.
He said that those retiring after 20 years of service are getting more pension than other three categories even though the latter served for more period of time in Government departments.
Sharma said that employees with same category, class, grade, qualifications and same pay after retirement are getting lesser pension than their junior colleagues and this has caused disparity in one rank one pension formula.
He also said that this all is happening due to pro-rata formula adopted for pension in J&K and demanded intervention of LG and Financial Commissioner, A.K Mehta to settle the issue.
