JAMMU, July 13: Divisional level exhibition was held here today by Directorate of Samagra Shiksha in collaboration with Pratham Education Foundation & UNICEF providing a platform to students to showcase their models, drawings, crafts, and paintings etc.
After the exhibition, a prize distribution function was held wherein students were felicitated for their works and models.
Pertinent to mention that each summer zone of every district was allotted 10 summer camps to show case students their talent in other fields like Drawing, painting, Essay writing, model making etc. These models/paintings/drawings made by students in the summer camps were displayed at the exhibitions which took place at Zonal level at the first instance. In the zonal level exhibition, eight best models in each subject/category- English, Hindi, Math, Science, Urdu, Social science, Art & Craft, & Drawing were selected for the district level exhibition, which took place in every district. At the district level exhibition, the top three models from each -English, Hindi, math, science, Urdu, social science, art & craft, & drawing were selected and the students whose models were selected were rewarded & provided certificates. The top one model among the best three in all categories, were provided an opportunity to participate in the divisional level exhibition.
Dr Arun Manhas, State Project Director Samagra Shiksha, visited the exhibition and felicitated the students who were adjudged best by the expert jury. Dr Manhas lauded the efforts made by School Education Department and team of Pratham for organizing this even in a more preeminent and strategic manner. He also lauded the efforts taken by team Pratham and officials of School Education Department who worked rigorously day and night to make this even so successful.
Director School Education, Jammu, Dr Anuradha Gupta was also present during the event. She advised the members of School Education Department to replicate the model in future as well and reach out to the remotest areas of State for inculcating innovative skills among students.
Among other, who graced the occasion, included Chief Education Officers of all the districts and State head (J&K) Dr Parveen Sayyed. While interacting with media, students narrated that it was a wonderful experience for them full of surprises for all the people in the program. Parents in general also appreciated the initiatives taken in these summer camps.
