REASI, Aug 30: A meeting of the District Level Narco Coordination Committee (NCORD) was convened under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan at DC Office Complex, here today. During the meeting, the DM emphasised to follow “Prevent First, Eradicate Next” approach.
The meeting focused on assessing ongoing initiatives and enhancing collaborative endeavours to combat the menace of drug abuse. Every department provided an overview of action taken under NCORD meeting decisions in Reasi.
The DM also directed departments to ensure safety of female staff working in Rehabilitation and de-addiction centers. Recognizing the pivotal role of education in prevention, he instructed the institutions to organise mass awareness programs in schools and colleges. He highlighted the important role of forming youth clubs at panchayat level.
SSP Reasi Gaurav Sikarwar, ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC Kulbhushan Khajuria, PO (ICDS) Mohd Anwar Banday, Addl. SP Iftekhar Ahmed, ACD Pradeep Kumar, DSWO, Principals, CEO, DIO (info), Tehsildars and other concerned officers were present.
