JAMMU, Sept 26: Dr Anila Charak, a distinguished writer, poet, and satirist, was honoured with the prestigious International Hindi Sahitya Shiromani Gaurav Award by GKSS, an international organisation dedicated to art, culture, and social service.
The award ceremony was held at the KL Sehgal Hall of the Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, with participation from several prominent writers and social workers from across the country.
As per a statement, Superintendent of Police, Dr BP Ashok from Lucknow was the Chief Guest, while Dr Anila Charak was the Guest of the Honour.
Dr Charak, known for her remarkable contributions to literature, has authored 16 books of poetry and satire.
She has previously been honoured with numerous accolades, including the Homi Bhabha Award from the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), where she served as Principal at AECS Mumbai.
She has also been recognised as the best Principal at the national level, an honour bestowed upon her by former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
In addition to her literary accomplishments, Dr Charak has made notable contributions in the field of education and sports.
A former national-level cricket player, she has organised exhibitions at both national and international levels.
On the occasion, her latest work, “Rishton Ke Bheege Akhbar”, a collection of Ghazals, was also released.
