JAMMU, May 11: A drug peddler was arrested with 3.4 grams of heroin-like-substance from Akhnoor area, police said.
On May 10, a party of police station Akhnoor during routine naka checking at Old Bridge, Akhnoor, intercepted a motorcycle (JK02DB-2911) which was on its way from Jammu towards Akhnoor, a police official said.
As the biker saw police team, he tried to escape but was overpowered, he said.
On search of his belongings, the police official said, 3.4 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered from his possession.
The accused identified as Sahil Singh of Karangi, Akhnoor, has been arrested and booked in case FIR number 79/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Akhnoor Police Station and further investigation taken up.
