JAMMU, Sept 18: Hindi Pakhwara (fortnight) is being observed by various educational institutions in Jammu by highlighting role of Hindi language in communication and administration.
In Central University Jammu, a grand inauguration ceremony for Hindi Pakhwara was organized under the joint aegis of the Hindi Cell and the Department of Hindi and other Indian Languages.
The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, CUJ Prof Sanjeev Jain. Chief guest for the occasion was Padma Shri Prof Harmohinder Singh Bedi, alongside Prof Yashwant Singh, Registrar CUJ; Prof Vandana Sharma, Dean of the Faculty of Languages; Prof Bharat Bhushan, HoD Hindi and other Indian Languages Department, and Assistant Director of the Hindi Cell, Dr Priyanjan.
In his address, Prof Sanjeev Jain suggested organizing regular training programs in Hindi for all university students and staff and also advocated for the promotion of the local language, Dogri. The Hindi journal of CUJ, “Uttar Vahini,” was also launched on the occasion.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu is celebrating Hindi Pakhwara with fervor. The inaugural event featured speeches from esteemed guests, cultural programs, and a special plantation drive as part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwara campaign. Dr. Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, JKSCERT, was the chief guest while Manveer Singh was the guest of honor. Prof B S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, presided over the inaugural ceremony.
The speakers encouraged everyone to use Hindi more frequently, not only during Hindi Pakhwara but throughout the year, to support and advance the language in everyday life.
Central Sanskrit University, Shri Ranbir Campus, Kot Balwal, Jammu kick started the annual program, which will be celebrated till 30 September by the Raj Bhasha Prakosht of the University.
On this occasion, renowned Dogri and Hindi writer Dr Nirmal Vinod was present as the chief guest. He stressed upon the need to adopt Hindi in daily practice. Saraswat guest of the program, Prof Satish Kumar Kapoor said that Hindi has an integral relationship with Sanskrit and they are always integrated in feelings. In his presidential address, Prof Shridhar Mishra, Director of the Campus, appealed to all the members of the university to do more and more official work in Hindi.
Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) celebrated Hindi Pakhwara Divas by conducting Hindi debate competition on “Importance of Hindi Language in Shaping Future of India” here today. The event brought together talented students from all three departments Hindi Journalism, English Journalism and Digital Media. Students debated the crucial role of Hindi in India’s progress and development.
Regional Director of IIMC Jammu, Dr Dilip Kumar encouraged students to promote Hindi language. Dr Anil Soumitra emphasized that Hindi is not just a language of knowledge but a language of connection. Dr Vinit Kumar Jha Utpal, Assistant Professor Digital Media, shared his expertise and offered relevant suggestions. Others who attended the event were Assistant Professor Dr Ravia Gupta, Rajeev Kumar , Madhusudan and Gulshan Kumar.
