SAMBA, Sept 10: Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana organized a Drug Awareness Campaign cum Speech Competition under the Civic Action Programme conducted by the J&K Police.
The event, titled “Drug and Substance Abuse: Issues and Preventive Strategies,” aimed to raise awareness and explore solutions to combat drug abuse. Over 200 participants, including students, school staff, and police officials, attended the session.
The competition was guided by Principal Gaurav Charak, Administration Officer Ravinder Sadhu, and Incharge Hr. Secondary Wing Parsidh Singh. Additional SP (SDPO) Mukund Tiberwal, Bari Brahmana, was the chief guest, while SHO Sumeet Sharma served as the guest of honour.
Students delivered insightful speeches on drug abuse, emphasizing the role of family, schools, law enforcement and the community in prevention. Gayatri Singh Charak won first place, receiving a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Tushangi and Rishu secured second and third positions, earning Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,000, respectively. All participants were awarded consolation prizes.
